Cleveland Cavaliers 2016-2017 Schedule Breakdown

The 2016-2017 NBA regular season schedule has finally been released. The Cleveland Cavaliers are scheduled to play 30 games on national television, and the games will be televised on ESPN, TNT, ABC, or NBA TV. Now all Cavaliers fans can look forward to all the exciting matchup’s for the upcoming regular season.

First, we start off with season opener in the NBA on October 25th, the Cleveland Cavaliers will host the New York Knicks and the game will be televised on TNT. This will be Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah’s first game playing for the New York Knicks, and this will be another interesting LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony matchup. This will be championship ring night for the Cleveland Cavaliers and this is the night that Cavaliers fans have all been waiting for. On October 28th, the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road will take on the Toronto Raptors and this game will be shown on ESPN. This game will be a rematch of last years Eastern Conference Finals which the Cavaliers won the series four games to two.

On November 3rd, the Boston Celtics will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena on TNT. This game will be a good match up between point guards Kyrie Irving and Isiah Thomas. On November 8th, the Cleveland Cavaliers will play Dwight Howard and Atlanta Hawks at home on NBA TV. This game will be a rematch of last years Eastern Conference Semi-Finals which the Cavaliers swept the Hawks.

On December 2nd on ESPN, the Cleveland Cavaliers will head to Chicago to face the Chicago Bulls. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade will once again play against each other after they were teammates in Miami. A December 7th matchup on ESPN, the Cleveland Cavaliers will play at Madison Square Garden to play the New York Knicks.

This will be another anticipating matchup between Carmelo Anthony, and LeBron James. On December 21st, the Cleveland Cavaliers play at home to face off against the young and talented Milwaukee Bucks on NBA TV. Former Cavalier Matthew Dellavedova will play his first game in Cleveland since playing for the Cavaliers last season during their championship run.

On December 25th on Christmas Day, former NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers will go up against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors at Quicken Loans Arena. This will be a Finals rematch, and will be the first time these teams play each other since last year Finals ended. This game will be shown on ABC and should be a good battle between Kevin Durant and LeBron James.

On January 4th, the Cleveland Cavaliers will host the Chicago Bulls on ESPN, which will be an interesting matchup between LeBron James, and Jimmy Butler. The Cavaliers will have a six game road trip in January. During their road trip, they will travel to Portland to play against the Portland Trail Blazers on January 11th, and this game will be televised on ESPN which will be a good matchup between point guards Damian Lillard, and Kyrie Irving. On January 16th on Martin Luther King day, the Cleveland Cavaliers will face the Golden State Warriors in Oracle Arena on TNT, which will be another finals rematch. Last time these two teams played in Oracle Arena, the Warriors had a heartbreaking loss in game seven of the NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cavaliers won their first championship in franchise history.

On January 21st on ABC, the San Antonio Spurs will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in Quicken Loans Arena. This will be an interesting matchup between LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard. A January 29th matchup on ABC, the Cleveland Cavaliers at home will play against Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder which will be the only time the Thunder play the Cavaliers in Quicken Loans Arena during the season. This should be a good battle between point guards Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving.

On February 1st, the Cleveland Cavaliers at home play against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Kevin Love will once again play against his former team. This game will be shown on ESPN. On February 15th on ESPN, the Cleveland Cavaliers host Paul George and the Indiana Pacers. On a March 1st matchup, the Cavaliers will play in TD Garden to play against the Boston Celtics, and this game is televised on ESPN.

On March 12th on ESPN, the Cavaliers will head to Houston to play the Houston Rockets which should be a good matchup between James Harden and LeBron James. On March 14th, the Detroit Pistons will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in Quicken Loans Arena on NBA TV, and this will be a rematch in the first round of last years playoffs which the Cavaliers swept the Pistons. On March 18th, the Cleveland Cavaliers will play in Staples Center to face the Los Angeles Clippers. This will be an anticipating matchup between point guard Kyrie Irving and Chris Paul. On April 10th, the Cavaliers will face off against the Miami Heat on the road, and LeBron James will once again make his return to Miami after he won two championship playing for the Miami Heat.
