Cleveland Cavaliers Take Charge In Second Half To Beat New Orleans Pelicans 107-102

The Cleveland Cavaliers at home outlast the New Orleans Pelicans 107-102. The Cavaliers improve to 46-30, and the Pelicans fall to 43-33 on the season. The Cavaliers have now seven of their last eight games. LeBron James had a game-high 27 points on 12 of 24 from the field, plucked nine rebounds, and dished out 11 assists. James passed Michael Jordan’s record scoring 10 or more points in 867th consecutive game.

Rodney Hood put in 16 points on 7 of 11 from the field in 28 minutes. George Hill scored eight points on 4 of 7 from the floor. Hill left the game with a sprained ankle, and did not return. Kevin Love racked up eight points on merely 3 of 11 from the field, and grabbed eight rebounds. Jordan Clarkson added 23 points on 9 of 13 from the floor, pulled down four rebounds, and hit four three-pointers off the pine.

J.R. Smith pitched in eight points on just 2 of 6 from the field off the bench. Tristan Thompson generated four points on 2 of 4 from the field, and collected 14 rebounds in 21 minutes off the pine. The Cavaliers shot 47.8 percent from the field, and shot a solid 41.7 percent on 10 of 24 from three-point range.

The Cavaliers out-scored the Pelicans in the second half 60 to 45. The Cavaliers played better defense in the second half, and played with more energy. Meanwhile, Kyle Korver did not play with a sore foot. The Cavaliers will play again at home on Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks

Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said, “LeBron just took the game over and made shots that we would like to see him shoot we tried to keep him from driving to the basket, but he made three tough shots. That’s kind of who he is.”

Darius Miller concluded with 11 points on 4 of 7 from the floor, and nailed three triples off the pine.

Solomon Hill tallied seven points on 3 of 6 from the field, and nabbed five rebounds off the bench. Ian Clark dumped in seven points on only 3 of 10 from the floor off the pine. The Pelicans shot 48.3 percent from the field, and shot 42.3 percent on 11 of 26 from beyond the arc. The Pelicans had a chance to win, but they did not get stops when they needed to in the second half. The Pelicans have now lost three games in a row. The Pelicans are going to have a hard time winning games when Anthony Davis is struggling.

Cleveland Cavaliers Thrashed Charlotte Hornets 118-105

The Cleveland Cavaliers on the road thump the Charlotte Hornets 118-105. The Cavaliers improve to 45-30, and the Hornets fall to 34-42 on the season. LeBron James led all scorers with 41 points on 14 of 26 from the field, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out eight assists, and made four three-pointers. Jeff Green dropped in 18 points on 6 of 15 from the floor. Rodney Hood scored 13 points on 5 of 12 from the field, and plucked five rebounds.

George Hill finished with nine points on merely 4 of 13 from the floor, and gave out four assists. J.R. Smith added 19 points on 8 of 9 from the field, including five rebounds, and three steals off the bench. Larry Nance put up four points on 2 of 5 from the field, pulled down nine rebounds, and stripped away four steals off the pine. The Cavaliers shot 48.4 percent from the field, and shot 39.3 percent on 11 of 28 from three-point range. The Cavaliers moved the ball well, and executed well on offensive.

The Cavaliers played well from start to finish. They have won six of their last seven games. Meanwhile, Kevin Love did not play with a concussion, and Kyle Korver was out because of personal reasons. The Cavaliers will host the New Orleans Pelicans tomorrow night.

LeBron James said about tying the record with Michael Jordan for scoring 10 or more points in 866th consecutive game,  “I can’t tell you how I’ve been able to do it, any time I’m mentioned with some of the greats, and arguably the greatest basketball player of all-time in Mike, it’s just another feat for me to be just appreciative and humbled by what I’m able to do.”

Dwyane Bacon notched six points on 3 of 7 from the floor, to go along with seven rebounds. The Hornets shot a solid 51.3 percent from the field, and shot a poor 23.8 percent on 5 of 21 from three-point distance.

The Hornets did not play good enough on defense to win the game. The Hornets have still won four of their last five games. Cody Zeller missed the game for the Hornets with a knee injury. The Hornets were losing by double-digits in the second half, and they did not have a chance to comeback.

LeBron’s Clutch Three Pointer Lifts Cavs Past Nets 121-114

The Cleveland Cavaliers on the road pull off the win 121-114 against the Brooklyn Nets. The Cavaliers improve to 44-29, and the Nets fall to 23-51 on the season. The Cavaliers have now won six of their last seven games. LeBron James finished with 37 points on 14 of 19 from the field, plucked 10 rebounds, and dished out eight assists. James made a clutch three-pointer to help close out the game for the Cavaliers.

Kevin Love posted a double-double with 20 points on 6 of 14 from the floor, including 15 rebounds, four assists, and drained three triples. George Hill put in 17 points on 6 of 11 from the field, to go along with four rebounds, five assists, two steals, and sunk three from deep. Jordan Clarkson added 18 points on 6 of 12 from the field off the bench. Rodney Hood totaled 16 points on 6 of 12 from the floor, and hit three from downtown. The Cavaliers shot 50.6 percent from the field, and shot an exceptional 42.9 percent on 12 of 28 from three-point range.

The Cavaliers out-rebounded the Nets 49 to 38. The Cavaliers out-scored the Nets in the paint 52 to 38. The Cavaliers made shots when they needed to. The Cavaliers were not getting stops, and they have had a hard time getting stops on defense this season. Meanwhile, Kyle Korver did not play due to personal reasons, and Jeff Green was out with an illness. The Cavaliers will head to Miami to play against the Miami Heat tonight.

Cavaliers associate head coach Larry Drew said about LeBron, “You just look at the stat sheet, and it’s just not about points, it’s what he’s doing on the boards, it’s what he’s doing from an assists standpoint. He’s just a force. He’s a force and I mean he has put up MVP numbers without a doubt.”

The Nets did not play good enough on defense to win the game. The Nets were up 89-87 heading into the fourth quarter, but they didn’t get stops when they needed to.

Cleveland Cavaliers Dominate Phoenix Suns 120-95

The Cleveland Cavaliers at home defeat the Phoenix Suns 120-95. The Cavaliers improve to 43-29, and the Suns fall to 19-54 on the season. The Cavaliers have now won five of their last six games. LeBron James had a game-high 27 points on 11 of 16 from the field, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out nine assists in 29 minutes. Kevin Love dropped in 20 points on 7 of 15 from the field, including six rebounds, and three steals.

George Hill put in seven points on 3 of 5 from the field, and blocked two shots. Larry Nance Jr. posted a double-double with 15 points on 6 of 11 from the floor, and pulled down 10 rebounds off the bench. Jordan Clarkson added 13 points on just 5 of 14 from the field, plucked four rebounds, and gathered two steals off the pine. J.R. Smith notched 11 points on 3 of 7 from the floor, and hit three triples off the bench. Rodney Hood tossed in nine points on 4 of 8 from the field in 20 minutes off the pine.

The Cavaliers shot 49.5 percent from the field, and shot 27.6 percent on 8 of 29 from three-point range. The Cavaliers out-rebounded the Suns 54 to 36. The Cavaliers bench out-scored the Suns bench 57 to 33. The Cavaliers were down 27-23 at the end of the first quarter, but then they out-scored the Suns 39 to 23 in the second quarter.

The Cavaliers played well at both ends of the floor. Meanwhile, Kyle Korver did not play because of a personal reasons. Jeff Green left the game in the first half because of an illness and did not return. The Cavaliers on the road will take on the Brooklyn Nets tomorrow afternoon.

Shaquille Harrison tallied six points on a perfect 3 of 3 from the field in eight minutes off the bench. The Suns shot 43.7 percent from the field, and shot an awful 25 percent on 7 of 28 from three-point distance. The Suns also played sloppy with 17 turnovers. The Suns were out of synch offensively, and they were not getting stops on defense either. The Suns have now lost 11 straight games. Devin Booker did not play for the Suns with a hand injury, and T.J. Warren was out with a knee injury.

Cleveland Cavaliers Storm Back in Second Half To Beat Toronto Raptors 132-129

The Cleveland Cavaliers at home take down the Toronto Raptors 132-129. The Cavaliers improve to 42-29, and the Raptors fall to 53-19 on the season. This was a big win for the Cavaliers against the one seed in the Eastern Conference in the Toronto Raptors. LeBron James led all scorers with 35 points on 11 of 19 from the field, dished out 17 assists, and grabbed seven rebounds. James also did not turn the ball over once.

Kevin Love recorded a double-double with 23 points on 8 of 15 from the field, including 12 rebounds, four assists, and made four three-pointers. Love made a clutch three-pointer with 27.5 seconds remaining in the game to give the Cavaliers a 128-124 lead. George Hill put in 22 points on 10 of 11 from the floor, plucked four rebounds, and blocked two shots. Jose Calderon concluded with 14 points on 5 of 7 from the field, gave out four assists, and drained four three-pointers.

Jeff Green poured in 15 points on 4 of 9 from the floor. J.R. Smith added 10 points on 4 of 6 from the field, and pulled down five rebounds off the bench. All of Cavaliers starters scored in double-figures. The Cavaliers shot an outstanding 60.3 percent from the field, and shot 62.5 percent on 15 of 24 from three-point range. The Cavaliers were down 79-64 at halftime, but they came back in the second half.

The Cavaliers were on fire, and they executed very well offensively. The Cavaliers have now won four of their last five games. Meanwhile, Tristan Thompson was out with an ankle injury, Larry Nance did not play with a hamstring injury, Rodney Hood was sidelined with a back injury, and Kyle Korver missed the game due to a personal matter. The Cavaliers will play at home against the Phoenix Suns tonight.

Delon Wright contributed 12 points on 4 of 6 from the floor, gave out five assists, and blocked two shots off the pine. Pascal Siakam registered nine points on 4 of 9 from the field, and handed out four assists off the bench. The Raptors shot 53.4 percent from the field, and shot 44.1 percent on 15 of 34 behind the three-point line.

The Raptors bench out-scored the Cavaliers bench 58 to 23, but was not enough for the Raptors to win. The Raptors just did not get enough stops on defense, and they let the Cavaliers do whatever they wanted to do. This was a tough lost for the Raptors as they had a 15 point lead at halftime, and they have always struggled to beat the Cavaliers on the road. C.J. Miles did not play for the Raptors due to an illness.

LeBron James 40 points Lead Cavs Past Bucks 124-117

The Cleveland Cavaliers at home hold off the Milwaukee Bucks 124-117. The Cavaliers improve to 41-29, and the Bucks fall to 37-33 on the season. LeBron James posted a triple-double with 40 points on 16 of 29 from the field, including 12 rebounds, 10 assists, and two steals. James became the oldest player since Larry Bird to score 40 points and put up a triple-double in a game.

Kevin Love finished with 18 points on 5 of 13 from the field, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out four assists, and mad four three-pointers in 25 minutes. This was Loves first game back after he was out for a while with a hand injury. Jeff Green dropped in 14 points on 5 of 8 from the floor.

The Bucks did not get enough stops on defense to win the game. Malcolm Brogdon did not play for the Bucks with a quadriceps injury, Tyler Zeller was sidelined with a back injury, and Matthew Dellavedova was out with an ankle injury. The Bucks kept on fighting despite trailing by double digits in the second half.

The Cleveland Cavaliers on the road squeak by the Chicago Bulls 114-109. The Cavaliers improve to 40-29, and the Bulls fall to 24-45 on the season. LeBron James posted a triple-double with 33 points on 15 of 26 from the field, to go along with 13 rebounds, 12 assists, and blocked two shots. Jeff Green put in 21 points on 8 of 14 from the field, and grabbed four rebounds. Ante Zizic logged 14 points on 7 of 9 from the floor, and picked up six rebounds.

Jose Calderon scored nine points on 3 of 6 from the field, pulled down seven rebounds, and dished out six assists. George Hill dumped in eight points on merely 2 of 7 from the floor, and gathered six rebounds. Jordan Clarkson added 19 points on 6 of 13 from the field, and knocked down four three-pointers off the bench. Clarkson completed a four point play with a clutch three-pointer and the foul to give the Cavaliers a 109-105 lead with one minute and 27 seconds left in the fourth quarter. The Cavaliers shot a tremendous 50.6 percent from the field, and shot 35.1 percent on 13 of 37 from three-point range.

The Cavaliers were leading 69-52 at halftime, but it was a tie game with under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The Cavaliers made shots when they needed to, to win the game. The Cavaliers finish 3-3 on their six game road trip despite the injuries. The Cavaliers will head back home tonight, and play against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Cavaliers will face off the Portland Trail Blazers in Portland tomorrow night.

Kyle Korver said, “I’m always trying to find the open spot, (James) commands a lot of attention. We had a couple of sets where we tried to get up a couple of shots for me. A lot of it was just playing the game and readying the game.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers on the road edge the Denver Nuggets 113-108. The Cavaliers improve to 38-26, and the Nuggets fall to 35-30 on the season. LeBron James had a game-high 39 points on 15 of 25 from the field, including eight rebounds, 10 assists, and buried five three-pointers. James scored the teams last nine points in the fourth quarter. He made two tough fall away jump shots, and made a clutch three-pointer with under two minutes remaining in the game.

Cleveland Cavaliers Pulverized Detroit Pistons 112-90

The Cleveland Cavaliers at home cruise past the Detroit Pistons 112-90. The Cavaliers improve to 37-26, and the Pistons fall to 29-35 on the season. LeBron James led all scorers with 31 points on 11 of 17 from the field, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out seven assists, and made five three-pointers in 29 minutes played. Larry Nance Jr. posted a double-double with 22 points on 9 of 15 from the field, plucked 15 rebounds, and gathered two steals. Rodney Hood scored 13 points on just 4 of 12 from the floor.

Kyle Korver added 11 points on 4 of 7 from the field, picked up six rebounds, and hit three from downtown off the bench. Rookie Cedi Osman contributed 12 points on 5 of 11 from the floor, and collected six rebounds off the pine. Ante Zizic managed six points on a perfect 3 of 3 from the field, and picked up six rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench. Jordan Clarkson totaled 11 points on 5 of 10 from the floor, and snatched six rebounds off the pine. The Cavaliers shot 48.9 percent from the field, and shot 36.4 percent on 12 of 33 from three-point range.

The Cavaliers out-scored the Pistons 58 to 41 in the second half. The Cavaliers out-scored the Pistons in the paint 40 to 26. The Cavaliers played much better on defense, and allowed the Pistons to score a total of only 90 points. The Cavaliers out-rebounded the Pistons 53 to 40. Meanwhile, Kevin Love was out with a hand injury, Jeff Green did not play with a back injury, and Tristan Thompson also did not play with an ankle injury. The Cavaliers will head to Denver to play against the Denver Nuggets tonight.

For the Pistons, Blake Griffin led the way with 25 points on 10 of 22 from the field, including eight rebounds, five assists, and sunk three triples. Andre Drummond finished with 15 points on a perfect 5 of 5 from the floor, to go along with nine rebounds, and two steals. Reggie Bullock put in 11 points on 4 of 10 from the field, and knocked down three from beyond the arc. Ish Smith logged six points on 3 of 7 from the floor, and gave out six assists. Anthony Tolliver generated eight points on 3 of 5 from the field, and snagged five rebounds off the bench.

Stanley Johnson poured in nine points on merely 3 of 9 from the floor, and stripped away two steals off the pine. The Pistons shot just 39.1 percent from the field, and shot 35.3 percent on 12 of 34 behind the three-point line. The Pistons have now lost six of their last seven games. It may be hard for them to make the playoffs now. Reggie Jackson is still out for the Pistons with an ankle injury.
