LA Clippers Stumble To Cleveland Cavaliers 118-108


The Cleveland Cavaliers at home take down the LA Clippers 118-108. The Cavaliers improve to 28-16, and the Clippers fall to 30-15 on the season. Donovan Mitchell posted a double-double with 28 points on 11 of 21 from the field, including four rebounds, 12 assists, and two steals. Jarrett Allen recorded a double-double with 20 points on 6 of 9 from the floor, and grabbed 17 rebounds. Isaac Okoro scored 17 points on 5 of 10 from the field, and sunk three from outside.

Max Strus dropped in finished with 14 points on 4 of 8 from the floor, pulled down seven rebounds, dished out four assists, and buried three from deep. Evan Mobley finished with 10 points on 5 of 7 from the field, and picked up nine rebounds. Caris LeVert added 13 points on 6 of 12 from the floor off the bench. The Cavaliers shot 48.8 percent from the field, and shot 32.5 percent on 13 of 40 from three-point territory. All of the Cavaliers starters scored in double-figures. The Cavaliers played well at both ends of the floor and they have now won 10 of their last 11 games.

“It’s good to have Evan back,” Allen said. “He stayed locked in, and now that he’s back he’s looking like his old self again.”

For the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard led all scorers with 30 points on 13 of 25 from the field, to go along with eight rebounds, and two steals. Paul George put in 13 points on 3 of 11 from the floor, snatched five rebounds, and stripped away two steals. James Harden chipped in a double-double with 11 points on 3 of 8 from the field, plucked seven rebounds, and gave out 10 assists. Norman Powell contributed 18 points on 6 of 13 from the floor, and made four three-pointers off the pine. Russell Westbrook totaled 13 points on 5 of 8 from the field, and snagged four rebounds off the bench.

Amir Coffey generated 13 points on 5 of 9 from the floor off the pine. The Clippers bench outscored the Cavaliers bench 44 to 29. The Clippers did not play good defensively. The Cavaliers snapped the Clippers five game winning streak.

Cleveland Cavaliers Storm Past Milwaukee Bucks 112-100


The Cleveland Cavaliers on the road thump the Milwaukee Bucks 112-100. The Cavaliers improve to 27-16, and the Bucks fall to 31-14 on the season. Donovan Mitchell had a game-high 32 points on 12 of 27 from the field, grabbed six rebounds, and made six three-pointers. Jarrett Allen posted a double-double with 24 points on 9 of 20 from the floor, picked up 14 rebounds, and blocked two shots. Max Strus put in 11 points on 3 of 10 from the field, including seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Caris LeVert notched 12 points on 3 of 10 from the floor, snatched four rebounds, and dished out five assists off the bench.

Georges Niang dropped in 10 points on 3 of 5 from the field, and gathered five rebounds off the pine. The Cavaliers shot 41.3 percent from the field, and shot 39 percent on 14 of 36 from three-point range. The Cavaliers outscored the Bucks in the paint 44 to 34. The Cavaliers did a good job getting stops on defense and they have now won nine of their last 10 games.

“We felt like a step behind last game,” Allen said. “I don’t think we were ready to play when we did the tipped ball. Tonight we came out with energy that we believed we could play with (and) the defense that we’re supposed to play, too.”

For the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a double-double with 22 points on 9 of 13 from the floor, snagged 11 rebounds, gave out nine assists, but turned the ball over six times. Bobby Portis registered 12 points on 4 of 8 from the field, caught eight rebounds, and drained three triples. The Bucks shot 40.2 percent from the field, and shot 38.2 percent on 13 of 34 from three-point distance. The Bucks played sloppy with 18 turnovers and they did execute well enough offensively.

Cleveland Cavaliers Annihilate Orlando Magic 126-99


The Cleveland Cavaliers on the road burst the Orlando Magic 126-99. The Cavaliers improve to 26-15, and the Magic fall to 23-21 on the season. Sam Merrill had a game-high 26 points on 8 of 13 from the field, and made eight three-pointers off the bench. Donovan Mitchell posted a double-double with 25 points on 9 of 19 from the floor, including 13 assists, four steals, and drained three from downtown. Jarrett Allen recorded a double-double with 14 points on 6 of 8 from the field, grabbed 11 rebounds, and dished out four assists.

Max Strus scored 10 points on 4 of 7 from the floor, pulled down four rebounds, and gave out four assists. Craig Porter pitched in 12 points on 5 of 7 from the field, and handed out five assists off the pine. Georges Niang generated 11 points on 3 of 9 from the floor, and plucked five rebounds off the bench. The Cavaliers shot 56.3 percent from the field, and shot 52.6 percent on 20 of 38 from beyond the arc. The Cavaliers bench outscored the Magics bench 60 to 41. The Cavaliers played great at both ends of the floor and they have now won eight games in a row.

“I think there’s definitely a high level of confidence and trust in each other,” said Merrill. “Because of all the new guys and having kind of a new system, we certainly had to grow, and I think we have that right now.”

For the Magic, Paolo Banchero tallied 18 points on 6 of 14 from the field, and dished out six assists. Franz Wagner concluded with 17 points on 6 of 11 from the floor. Wendell Carter Jr. put up 10 points on 4 of 9 from the field, to go along with nine rebounds, and two steals. Moritz Wagner amassed 15 points on 4 of 8 from the floor, and gathered four rebounds off the pine. The Magic shot 46 percent from the field, and shot 38 percent on 11 of 29 from three-point distance. The Magic played sloppy with 15 turnovers and they did not get off to a good start. They played like they didn’t want to compete.

Cleveland Cavaliers Cruise Past Atlanta Hawks 116-95

Dean Wade scored 17 points on 6 of 7 from the floor, pulled down five rebounds, and hit five three-pointers. Jarrett Allen posted a double-double with 14 points on 6 of 8 from the field, including 11 rebounds, three steals, and three blocks.

The Cavaliers bench outscored the Hawks bench 42 to 30. The Cavaliers did a good job getting stops on defense and they have now won seven straight games. They are playing well despite having injuries. Meanwhile, Darius Garland is still out with a jaw injury, Evan Mobley missed the game with knee surgery, and Caris LeVert did not play with a wrist sprain.

“We’ve been mercurial. We’ve had moments we’ve found things that are successful in games and we’ve gotten away from them,” said Hawks coach Quin Snyder. “We were a different team in the three games previous than we were tonight.”

For the Hawks, Dejounte Murray supplied 24 points on 10 of 19 from the floor, picked up nine rebounds, and dished out five assists. Jalen Johnson generated 20 points on 8 of 16 from the field, to go along with seven rebounds, four rebounds, and two blocks. Trae Young finished with 15 points on 6 of 12 from the floor, and made three from deep. Bogdan Bogdanovic tossed in 14 points on 5 of 11 from the field, and gave out four assists. The Hawks shot 39.8 percent from the field, and shot 29 percent on 11 of 38 from behind the three-point line. The Hawks played too inconsistent offensively.

Cleveland Cavaliers Manhandled Milwaukee Bucks 135-95


The Cleveland Cavaliers at home demolished the Milwaukee Bucks 135-95. The Cavaliers improve to 24-15, and the Bucks fall to 28-13 on the season. Georges Niang led all scorers with 33 points on 13 of 14 from the field, grabbed five rebounds, and made five three-pointers off the bench. Donovan Mitchell scored 31 points on 12 of 19 from the floor, including five rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and sunk four three-pointers. Jarrett Allen posted a double-double with 21 points on 9 of 15 from the field, and pulled down 13 rebounds.

Isaac Okoro put up 10 points on 5 of 7 from the floor, and dished out seven assists. Sam Merrill pitched in 10 points on 4 of 8 from the field, picked up five rebounds, and gave out five assists off the pine. The Cavaliers shot 59 percent from the field, and shot 43 percent on 12 of 28 from three-point range. The Cavaliers out-rebounded the Bucks 55 to 36. The Cavaliers outscored the Bucks in the paint 74 to 42. The Cavaliers played a great game at both ends of the floor and they have now won six games in a row. Meanwhile, Darius Garland and Evan Mobley are still out with injuries.

“At that point in time, you’ve got a decision to make: You quit or you fight,” said Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff. “And I never expected this group of guys to quit. The fight came and the results have been what they’ve been.”

For the Bucks, Bobby Portis led the way with 16 points on 6 of 11 from the floor, and snatched six rebounds off the bench. Brook Lopez tallied 11 points on 5 of 7 from the field including four rebounds, and three blocks. Jae Crowder concluded with 15 points on 5 of 13 from the floor, and buried four three-pointers off the pine. Cameron Payne dropped in 13 points on 5 of 9 from the field off the bench. The Bucks shot 40 percent from the field, and shot 28.6 percent on 12 of 42 from beyond the arc. The Bucks did not show up at all and they were down by too many points to come back in the 2nd half. Giannis Antetokounmpo missed the game with a shoulder contusion.

Cleveland Cavaliers Decimate Chicago Bulls 109-91

Dean Wade finished with 12 points on 4 of 10 from the field, pulled down seven rebounds, accumulated three steals, and made four three-pointers.

Sam Merrill added 15 points on 5 of 7 from the floor, collected two steals, and hit four three-pointers off the bench. The Cavaliers shot 41 percent from the field, and shot 35 percent on 20 of 57 from three-point range. The Cavaliers bench outscored the Bulls bench 44 to 23. The Cavaliers played with defensive intensity, and they have now won five games in a row.

“They’re a good team, a competitive team, so we knew they were going make a run,” said Mitchell. “And we missed wide-open shots. But the biggest thing is how we responded, and we did it as a group.”

For the Bulls, Coby White led the way with 18 points on 5 of 15 from the floor, and snatched four rebounds. Zach LaVine pitched in 17 points on 7 of 14 from the field, gathered four rebounds, and dished out four assists. Alex Caruso dropped in 10 points on 4 of 9 from the floor, including three steals. Aye Dosunmu accrued 10 points on 3 of 7 from the field off the pine. The Bulls shot 42.2 percent from the field, and shot 28 percent on 9 of 32 three-point territory. The Bulls played sloppy with 18 turnovers and they did not execute well offensively.

Jarrett Allen posted a double-double with 12 points on 3 of 5 from the floor, including 12 rebounds, four assists, and four blocks. Caris LeVert compiled 12 points on 5 of 14 from the field, blocked two shots, and hit three triples off the bench.

Georges Niang registered 10 points on 3 of 6 from the floor, and grabbed four rebounds off the pine. The Cavaliers shot 39 percent from the field, and shot 29.5 percent on 13 of 44 from three-point territory. Meanwhile, Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley are all out with injuries. The Cavaliers did a good job getting stops on defense and they have now won four games in a row.

“I’d love to come back and play in the Olympics,” Mitchell said. “This city is a very electric basketball city.”

For the Nets, Mikal Bridges scored 26 points on 6 of 18 from the field, and pulled down six rebounds. Nic Claxton recorded a double-double with 13 points on 6 of 9 from the floor, and picked up 11 rebounds. Cam Thomas totaled 26 points on 9 of 21 from the field, and snatched six rebounds off the bench. Lonnie Walker IV dropped in 20 points on 8 of 12 from the floor, and drained four three-pointers. The Nets shot 45 percent from the field, and shot 29.6 percent on 8 of 27 three-point distance. The Nets outscored the Cavaliers in the paint 46 to 34. The Nets bench outscored the Cavaliers bench 58 to 38. The Nets played sloppy with 16 turnovers and they have now lost seven of their last eight games.

Cleveland Cavaliers Fend Off San Antonio Spurs 117-115

The Cavaliers shot 49 percent from the field, and shot 37.2 percent on 16 of 43 from three-point range. The Cavaliers played sloppy with 16 turnovers, but they did execute well offensively. Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley are still out with injuries.

“I don’t know any big man, any center who is playing better than Jarrett Allen right now,” Cleveland coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “In my opinion, he’s an All-Star. He’s got to be. It’s deserving.”

For the Spurs, Victor Wembanyama led the way with 24 points on 6 of 13 from the field, pulled down 10 rebounds, and blocked five shots. Devin Vassell dropped in 22 points on 9 of 19 from the floor, stripped away three steals, and knocked down four three-pointers. Tre Jones pitched in 18 points on 7 of 8 from the field, to go along with four assists, and two steals. Jeremy Sochan poured in 11 points on 4 of 9 from the floor, collected five rebounds, and dished out four assists.

Keldon Johnson generated 18 points on 6 of 16 from the field, and nailed three from deep off the pine. The Spurs shot 47.7 percent from the field, and shot 37.8 percent on 14 of 37 from three-point distance. The Spurs competed well and they did not give up even though they lost. The Spurs have now lost five games in a row.

The Cavaliers played sloppy with 23 turnovers, but they did a good job getting stops on defense. Darius Garland was out with a jaw injury, and Evan Mobley missed the game with knee surgery.

“We handled our business,” Mitchell said. “We just played steady basketball throughout. The biggest thing is taking care of these games and continuing to move forward. It’s expected of us.”

For the Wizards, Tyus Jones led the way with 16 points on 6 of 10 from the field, gave out five assists, accumulated two steals, and knocked down four three-pointers off the bench. Demi Avdija finished with 13 points on 5 of 8 from the floor, including five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Bilal Couilbaly totaled 15 points on 6 of 13 from the field, snatched seven rebounds, and blocked three shots off the bench. Corey Kispert tossed in 13 points on 6 of 12 from the floor off the pine. The Wizards shot 41.7 percent from the field, and shot 30 percent on 9 of 30 three-point territory. The Wizards played too inconsistent offensively and they have now lost six of their last seven games.

Cleveland Cavaliers Pulverized Washington Wizards 140-101

Caris LeVert managed 21 points on 9 of 18 from the floor, picked up five rebounds, gave out five assists, and hit three triples off the bench. Georges Niang contributed 15 points on 5 of 11 from the field, and snagged eight rebounds off the pine. The Cavaliers shot an outstanding 54 percent from the field, and shot 47.6 percent on 20 of 42 from three-point range. The Cavaliers out-rebounded the Wizards 62 to 36. The Cavaliers outscored the Wizards in the paint 68 to 52.
The Cavaliers bench outscored the Wizards bench 66 to 49. The Cavaliers played a great game offensively and they played unselfish basketball. Meanwhile, Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley are still out with injuries.

“This is the style of basketball we wanted to play when everyone was healthy, and we’re finding that rhythm now,” Allen said. “The offense runs through me a lot, and teams have to respect my ability to pass and drop off when I have the ball.”

For the Wizards, Kyle Kuzma totaled 16 points on 7 of 12 from the field. Daniel Gafford tallied 12 points on 6 of 8 from the floor, and gathered five rebounds. Corey Kispert pitched in 12 points on 4 of 9 from the field off the bench. Mike Muscala accrued 12 points on 5 of 9 from the floor, to go along with four rebounds off the pine. The Wizards shot 41.6 percent from the field, and shot 34.3 percent on 12 of 35 from three-point territory. The Wizards have now lost five of their last six games, and they did not show up in this game especially on defense.
