Cleveland Cavaliers Trounced Detroit Pistons 122-107

The Cleveland Cavaliers at home blow out the Detroit Pistons 122-107. The Cavaliers improve to 9-9, and the Pistons fall to 4-14 on the season. Collin Sexton led all scorers with 29 points on 10 of 14 from the field, including five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Andre Drummond posted a double-double with 23 points on 9 of 24 from the field, grabbed 16 rebounds, stripped away five steals, and blocked two shots. Darius Garland dropped in 14 points on 6 of 11 from the field, dished out four assists, and gathered two steals.

Cedi Osman concluded with 10 points on 4 of 8 from the field. Rookie Issac Okoro put in 10 points on 3 of 5 from the floor, gave out six assists, and stripped away two steals. Taurean Prince added 16 points on 6 of 10 from the field, to go along with seven rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and made three from downtown off the bench. Jarrett Allen contributed 10 points on 5 of 7 from the field, and blocked two shots off the pine. Dylan Windler totaled eight points on 3 of 6 from the floor, and collected two steals off the bench.

The Cavaliers shot an outstanding 54 percent from the field, and shot 52.4 percent on 11 of 21 from three-point range. All of the Cavaliers starters scored in double figures. The Cavaliers out-scored the Pistons in the paint 66 to 46. The Cavaliers shot the ball well, and executed well offensively. Meanwhile, Kevin Love was out with a calf injury, and Larry Nance Jr. did not play with a wrist injury.

Andre Drummond said, “Our main goal is to beat up a team and wear them down, we did a great job of that tonight. We just tried to play aggressive the whole game and force them to make mistakes. We got stops and just played our game. That’s really what happened.”

For the Pistons, Jerami Grant led the way with 26 points on 7 of 13 from the field. Mason Plumlee tossed in 15 points on 6 of 9 from the field, and plucked 12 rebounds. The Pistons played sloppy with 22 turnovers. The Pistons did not get enough stops on defense to win. Blake Griffin did not play with a knee injury.

Cleveland Cavaliers Crushed Brooklyn Nets 125-113

The Cleveland Cavaliers at home blow out the Brooklyn Nets 125-113. The Cavaliers improve to 8-7, and the Nets fall to 9-8 on the season. For the Cavaliers, Collin Sexton led the way with 25 points on 8 of 19 from the field, and dished out nine assists. Andre Drummond posted a double-double with 19 points on 8 of 13 from the floor, including 16 rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 27 minutes. Larry Nance Jr. posted a double-double with 15 points on 7 of 11 from the field, and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Rookie Isaac Okoro dropped in eight points on 3 of 5 from the floor, and pulled down four rebounds. Jarrett Allen added 19 points on 7 of 9 from the field, and snagged six rebounds off the bench. Taurean Prince poured in 14 points on 3 of 5 from the field off the pine. Darius Garland pitched in 11 points on merely 4 of 13 from the field off the bench. The Cavaliers shot a solid 51.7 percent from the field, and shot only 32 percent on 8 of 25 from three-point range.

The Cavaliers bench out-scored the Nets bench 53 to 31. The Cavaliers out-rebounded the Nets 50 to 29. The Cavaliers out-scored the Nets in the paint 70 to 46. The Cavaliers have now won three games in a row. The Cavaliers executed well offensively. Meanwhile, Kevin Love did not play with a calf injury.

“I don’t want to overreact, but we need the guys to clean things up because we underperformed in two games,” Nets head coach Steve Nash said. “People are excited to play against our team and will bring it every night. I feel like we need a little more and we have to take more pride in what we’re doing.”

Jeff Green contributed 13 points on 5 of 9 from the field, and gathered two steals off the bench. Timothy Luwawu-Cabarrot dumped in 11 points on 4 of 9 from the field, and nailed three triples off the pine. The Nets shot 48.3 percent from the field, and shot 32.6 percent on 14 of 43 behind the three-point line. The Nets did not get enough stops on defense to win. Kevin Durant missed the game with an achilles injury recovery. The Nets have lost their last two games to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cleveland Cavaliers Top Brooklyn Nets 147-135 In Two Overtimes

The Cleveland Cavaliers get a big win at home against the Brooklyn Nets in two overtimes 147-135. The Cavaliers improve to 7-7, and the Nets fall to 9-7 on the season. Collin Sexton had a game-high 42 points on 16 of 29 from the field, including five rebounds, five assists, two steals, and made five three-pointers. Sexton took over the game in overtime. Cedi Osman scored 25 points on 9 of 17 from the floor, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out seven assists, and nailed four three-pointers.

Andre Drummond put up 13 points on 6 of 13 from the field, and pulled down seven rebounds. Larry Nance Jr. put in 15 points on 5 of 10 from the floor, to go along with eight rebounds, five assists, four steals, and knocked down three from deep. Taurean Prince added 17 points on 5 of 9 from the floor, gathered seven rebounds, gave out four assists, and drained three triples off the bench. Jarrett Allen racked up 12 points on 6 of 10 from the field, collected 11 rebounds, and blocked four shots off the pine. Prince, and Allen played their first game with the Cavaliers after they were acquired in a trade from the Nets.

Damyean Dotson poured in 15 points on 6 of 12 from the floor, and nailed three from downtown. The Cavaliers shot a solid 51.4 percent, and shot 50 percent on 20 of 40 from beyond the arc. The Cavaliers out-scored the Nets in the paint 64 to 48. Meanwhile, Kevin Love is still out with a calf injury, and Darius Garland did not play with a sprained shoulder. The Cavs competed well against the Nets who have three all-stars on their team.

Kyrie Irving said, ‘”Two overtimes for my first game back? You gotta love NBA ball, though. I was smiling when Collin Sexton was making those shots.”

For the Nets, Kevin Durant led the way with 38 points on 12 of 25 from the field, caught 12 rebounds, gave out eight assists, blocked four shots, and drained three from outside. Kyrie Irving pitched in 37 points on 15 of 28 from the field, blocked three shots, and sunk three triples. James Harden recorded a triple-double with 21 points on 6 of 14 from the floor, plucked 10 rebounds, handed out 12 assists, and stripped away two steals. Jeff Green concluded with 16 points on 5 of 8 from the field, snatched seven rebounds, and buried four three-pointers. Deandre Jordan dumped in 13 points on 6 of 7 from the field, and blocked two shots.

The Nets shot 45 percent from the field, and shot 36.6 percent on 15 of 41 from three-point distance. The Nets have still won four of their last five games. The Nets have a lot of talent on their team now, but they need to build team chemistry as the season goes on.

Larry Nance Jr. scored 14 points on 6 of 10 from the field, to go along with nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Meanwhile, Kevin Love was out with a calf strain, Collin Sexton did not play with an ankle sprain, and Darius Garland was sidelined with a shoulder sprain.

“I can’t speak enough about what Dre did, I thought he was awesome,” Cavaliers coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “He can punish you and when he plays with that determination and that force, there aren’t many people who can stop him one-on-one.”

For the Knicks, Julius Randle led the way with 28 points on 11 of 20 from the field, dished out six assists, and picked up six rebounds. RJ Barrett tossed in 20 points on 7 of 12 from the floor, pulled down four rebounds, and blocked two shots. Elfrid Payton dropped in nine points on 4 of 7 from the field. The Knicks shot 48.8 percent from the field, and shot 36 percent on 9 of 25 behind the three-point line.

Cleveland Cavaliers Win In A Close Finish 94-90 Against Memphis Grizzlies

The Cleveland Cavaliers on the road edge the Memphis Grizzlies 94-90. The Cavaliers improve to 5-4, and the Grizzlies fall to 2-6 on the season. Andre Drummond posted a double-double with 22 points on 9 of 20 from the field, including 15 rebounds, and two steals. Larry Nance Jr. scored 18 points on a perfect 7 of 7 from the field, dished out four assists, and stripped away three steals. Cedi Osman finished with 16 points on just 6 of 19 from the field, grabbed five rebounds, dished out seven assists, and drained four three-pointers.

Kevin Love is still out with a calf strain, Collin Sexton did not play with an ankle injury, and Darius Garland missed the game with a shoulder injury.

Ja Morant was sidelined with an ankle injury, and Jaren Jackson Jr. did not play with a torn meniscus injury.

Cleveland Cavaliers Win A Tight One 96-91 Against Atlanta Hawks

The Cleveland Cavaliers win a close game on the road 96-91 against the Atlanta Hawks. The Cavs improve to 4-2, and the Hawks fall to 4-2 on the season. The Cavaliers out-scored the Hawks in the paint 52 to 42. Collin Sexton led all scorers with 27 points on 10 of 18 from the field, and stripped away three steals. Sexton made a clutch three-pointer in the 4th quarter.

Andre Drummond posted a double-double with 12 points on 6 of 10 from the field, and grabbed 11 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench. Larry Nance Jr. racked up nine points on merely 3 of 10 from the field, including 11 rebounds, six assists, and three steals. Darius Garland scored eight points on just 3 of 14 from the floor. JaVale McGee put up 14 points on 6 of 11 from the field, pulled down nine rebounds, dished out four assists, and stripped away two steals off the bench. Cedi Osman added 11 points on 4 of 12 from the field, hit three triples, and caught four rebounds off the pine.

Damyean Dotson poured in seven points on 3 of 6 from the field off the bench. The Cavaliers shot 41.8 percent from the field, and shot a horrible 24 percent on 7 of 29 from three-point range. The Cavaliers competed well on defense. Kevin Love did not play with a calf injury.

“It feels good just to have my teammates behind me each night,” Collin Sexton said. “Early on they were like, ‘Keep going, keep going, you’re going to get your rhythm.’ … They pretty much have a lot of confidence in me.”

For the Hawks, De’Andre Hunter led the way with 17 points on with 17 points on 5 of 11 from the field, snagged five rebounds, and picked up two steals. Clint Capela posted a double-double with 16 points, to go along with 16 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. John Collins concluded with 10 points on merely 3 of 10 from the field, gathered four rebounds, and gave out five assists. Kevin Huerter tallied 13 points on 5 of 11 from the floor, plucked 10 rebounds, and made three from downtown off the bench. Bogdan Bogdanovic registered 11 points on only 4 of 12 from the field, and hit three triples.

The Hawks shot 41.2 percent from the field, and shot 34.4 percent on 11 of 32 behind the three-point line. The Hawks played sloppy with 20 turnovers. The Hawks also only shot 52.6 percent from the foul line. Danilo Gallinari missed the game with an ankle sprain.
