Cleveland Cavaliers Annihilate Philadelphia 76ers 108-94

The Cleveland Cavaliers at home blow out the Philadelphia 76ers 108-94. The Cavaliers improve to 17-41, and the 76ers fall to 36-23 on the season. Collin Sexton led all scorers with 28 points on 9 of 16 from the field, and stripped away two steals. Tristan Thompson posted a double-double with 14 points on 7 of 15 from the field, and grabbed 13 rebounds. Rookie Darius Garland put in 12 points on 5 of 12 from the floor.

Kevin Love racked up 13 points on just 3 of 9 from the field, including nine rebounds, six assists, and hit three triples. Larry Nance Jr. recorded 13 points on 6 of 9 from the floor, and pulled down 15 rebounds off the bench. Matthew Dellavedova managed 12 points on a perfect 5 of 5 from the field off the pine. The Cavaliers shot a solid 52.6 percent from the field, and shot 45.8 percent on 11 of 24 from three-point range. The Cavaliers played sloppy with 18 turnovers, but they shot the ball efficient.

Meanwhile, Andre Drummond did not play because of a calf injury. The Cavaliers have now won four of their last five games. The Cavaliers out-rebounded the 76ers 48 to 31, and they out-scored the 76ers in the paint 52 to 36.

Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said, “There’s been a concerted effort, to a man, to go out and get after it a little bit harder, there’s an energy that’s building and you don’t want to be the one guy that’s not participating in it.”

For the 76ers, Shake Milton had a team-high 20 points on 8 of 14 from the field, to go along with four rebounds, four assists, and sunk four three-pointers. Al Horford finished with 10 points on 4 of 10 from the field, plucked five rebounds, dished out five assists, and gathered three steals. Tobias Harris tossed in 11 points on merely 4 of 13 from the field, collected four rebounds, and stripped away three steals. Josh Richardson tallied nine points on just 4 of 12 from the field, and also had seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks. Alec Burks logged 13 points on 6 of 12 from the floor, and accumulated two steals off the bench. 

Furkan Korkmaz notched 14 points on just 4 of 12 from the field, and knocked down four three-pointers. The 76ers shot just 40.4 percent from the field, and shot 34.2 percent on 13 of 38 from three-point distance. Ben Simmons was out with a back injury, and Joel Embiid left the game early with a shoulder injury. The 76ers didn’t play well enough at both ends of the floor to win. 

Cleveland Cavaliers Pull Off The Win In Overtime 125-119 Against The Miami Heat

The Cleveland Cavaliers win at home in overtime against the Miami Heat 125-119. The Cavaliers improve to 16-41, and the Heat fall to 36-21. Kevin Porter Jr. led all scorers with 30 points on 9 of 18 from the field, to go along with eight rebounds, three assists, and hit four triples off the bench. Andre Drummond finished with 13 points on 5 of 13 from the field, and grabbed five rebounds. Collin Sexton scored 13 points on 4 of 10 from the field.

Rookie Darius Garland put in 14 points on 5 of 12 from the field, including five rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Cedi Osman compiled seven points on 3 of 8 from the floor. Larry Nance Jr. contributed 16 points on 8 of 11 from the field, pulled down eight rebounds, and stripped away two steals off the pine. Tristan Thompson put up 15 points on 5 of 11 from the field, and snatched nine rebounds off the bench.

The Cavaliers shot 44.3 percent from the field, and shot 37.8 percent on 14 of 37 from three-point range. The Cavaliers out-scored the Heat in the paint 54 to 40. The Cavaliers bench out-scored the Heats bench 61 to 45. The Cavaliers came back in the 4th quarter and they outscored the Heat 31-12 in the 4th quarter alone. The Cavaliers have now won three of their last four games.

Kevin Porter Jr. said, “You can play a perfect game, but if you don’t close at the end it doesn’t matter, we’re extremely happy we could close it out.”

For the Heat, Bam Adebayo posted a double-double with 22 points on 9 of 15 from the field, collected 13 rebounds, handed out nine assists, blocked four shots, and gathered three steals. Kendrick Nunn pitched in 21 points on 9 of 18 from the field, and dished out four assists. Derrick Jones Jr. totaled 10 points on 5 of 6 from the floor, caught seven rebounds, and blocked two shots. Duncan Robinson managed 15 points on 5 of 14 from the field, and buried five three-pointers. Jae Crowder generated 16 points on 5 of 14 from the floor, picked up nine rebounds, and drained four three-pointers off the bench.

Goran Dragic poured in 22 points on 7 of 16 from the floor, nabbed four rebounds, and gave out six assists. The Heat shot 45.8 percent from the field, and shot a solid 38 percent on 16 of 42 from three-point distance. Meanwhile, Jimmy Butler did not play because of personal reasons. The Heat had a chance to win, but they let their lead slip away in the 4th quarter.

Cleveland Cavaliers Stun Washington Wizards 113-108

The Cleveland Cavaliers win a close game on the road against the Washington Wizards 113-108. The Cavaliers improve to 15-40, and the Wizards fall to 20-34 on the season. For the Cavaliers, Collin Sexton led the way with 25 points on 8 of 17 from the field. Cedi Osman posted a double-double with 16 points on 5 of 7 from the floor, grabbed 10 rebounds, and hit three triples. Rookie Darius Garland scored 15 points on 6 of 11 from the field, and dished out four assists.

Andre Drummond recorded a double-double with 12 points on 6 of 11 from the field, to go along with 12 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Kevin Love put in nine points on 3 of 8 from the floor. Larry Nance Jr. added 13 points on 5 of 11 from the field, and picked up six rebounds off the bench. Tristan Thompson chipped in a double-double with 10 points on 5 of 8 from the field, picked up 11 rebounds, dished out four assists, and blocked two shots off the pine.

Dante Exum poured in 10 points on a perfect 4 of 4 from the field. The Cavaliers shot 53 percent from the field, and shot an outstanding 40.7 percent on 11 of 27 from three-point range. The Cavaliers turned the ball over 21 times, but they shot the ball well. The Cavaliers competed well on the road, and they played resilient.

Collin Sexton said, “It was tough at first, just coming off the break I needed my legs so I had to change up a little bit my shots and stuff. I just took what the defense gave me. I didn’t try to force anything.”

For the Wizards, Bradley Beal had a game-high 26 points on merely 9 of 28 from the field, and stripped away three steals. Rui Hachimura managed 17 points on 7 of 13 from the floor, to go along with seven rebounds, and two steals. Troy Brown Jr. totaled 11 points on 5 of 10 from the field, collected four rebounds, and gathered two steals. Thomas Bryant finished with eight points on 4 of 7 from the field, snatched five rebounds, and blocked two shots. Shabazz Napier logged eight points on 3 of 8 from the floor, and handed out four assists.

Jerome Robinson notched nine points on 4 of 8 from the field. Davis Bertans generated 10 points on just 2 of 7 from the floor, and caught eight rebounds. The Wizards shot just 38.7 percent from the field, and shot a horrid 24.3 percent on 9 of 37 behind the three-point line. The Wizards did not force the Cavs to miss more shots which would have given them a better chance to win. The Wizards also did not shoot the ball well enough.

Cleveland Cavaliers Thump Atlanta Hawks 127-105

The Cleveland Cavaliers blow out the Atlanta Hawks 127-105. The Cavaliers improve to 14-40, and the Hawks fall to 15-41. Tristan Thompson led all scorers with 27 points on 11 of 16 from the field, grabbed 11 rebounds, and hit three triples off the bench. Larry Nance Jr. posted a double-double with 23 points on 8 of 11 from the field, including 12 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. Andre Drummond recorded a double-double with 14 points on 6 of 10 from the floor, plucked 15 rebounds, and blocked two shots.

Collin Sexton scored 23 points on 7 of 17 from the field, and dished out six assists. Rookie Darius Garland finished with 12 points on 5 of 12 from the floor, and gave out seven assists. Kevin Porter Jr. added 18 points on 7 of 11 from the field, and collected four rebounds off the pine.

The Cavaliers shot a solid 51 percent from the field, and shot 35.7 percent on 10 of 28 from three-point range. The Cavaliers out-rebounded the Hawks 55 to 38, and they out-scored the Hawks bench 52 to 25. The Cavaliers executed well offensively, and they played well from start to finish. The Cavaliers break their six game losing streak.

Cavaliers head coach John Beilein said, “It’s a happy locker room again, it’s been a long time in Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse for us to have a happy locker room.”

For the Hawks, Trae Young led the way with 27 points on 8 of 17 from the field, to go along with 12 rebounds, and two steals. John Collins tallied 23 points on 9 of 12 from the floor, and gathered four rebounds. Kevin Hueter produced 11 points on 4 of 12 from the field, and buried three from deep. Dewayne Dedmon concluded with seven points on 3 of 5 from the floor, picked up four rebounds, stripped away three steals, and blocked three shots. Rookie De’Andre Hunter logged 12 points on just 4 of 13 from the floor, snagged eight rebounds, accumulated two steals, and made three triples.

Cam Reddish supplied 16 points on 4 of 11 from the field, and caught four rebounds off the bench. The Hawks shot 43 percent from the field, and shot 38 percent on 13 of 34 from three-point range. The Hawks played sloppy with 17 turnovers. The Hawks also did not get enough stops on defense to win.
